She grew up in Washington, D.C., and then relocated to New Jersey due to a corporate move in 1987 and lived there for 12 years. In 1999, Maxine relocated back to the D.C. area and settled in Maryland. She received her Bachelor's degree in Psychology from George Washington University, and her Master's in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing from Rutgers' University. After spending a couple decades in several sales and marketing roles in the corporate world, Maxine transitioned into being a College Nannies & Tutor owner and enjoys helping local families in her community. Given her passion for children and education, she is excited about working with families to provide a customized solution for their childcare and tutoring needs.
Shenett joined CNST as a highly skilled marketing professional with proven experience in building relationships, conducting presentations and developing successful marketing strategies. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication from Norfolk State University and a Master’s in Business Administration from Ashford University. Her marketing knowledge aids her in developing qualified candidates and developing solutions that meet a variety of clients' needs.
Tisha grew up in northwest Ohio and began working with children as a teenager. While studying communications at the University of Charleston (W.Va), she served as captain of the women’s rowing team, editor in chief of the school paper, and a peer tutor in the university writing center. Following graduation, Tisha became a full-time nanny for a Charleston family of five. She moved to the DC area in 2007 and spent five years as a researcher and editor for a Maryland-based public relations software company. Tisha has worked with Montgomery County children and families as an after-school nanny and a devoted community volunteer. Her passion for quality childcare and community involvement brought her to College Nannies and Tutors in March 2012.
A Silver Spring, Md., native, Weelay journeyed to Raleigh, North Carolina, to obtain her Social Work degree from Shaw University. In 2013, Weelay began graduate school at Clark Atlanta University in Georgia. Throughout her college years, Weelay worked as a nanny/sitter with CNST. After receiving her Master's in Social Work, she moved back to the DMV and worked for a non profit mental health agency in Washington, D.C. Her love for children and joy for serving her community brought her back to College Nannies, Sitters & Tutors in 2016 to serve as Role Model Manager.
Michelle had taken care of children for 10 years before joining CNT in 2015. She has also been involved in youth programs and various projects designed to provide services that help make youth active in their own education and personal health. One of her greatest achievements has been creating a summer youth program that has been running since 2013. During that process, she helped apply for funding, obtained a building for the program, created the curriculum, and also ran it for the first year. Michelle is currently a grad student at American University earning a Fine Arts degree in Film and Electronic Video.
Ornella is studying international relations at American University, with a possible minor in public health. After college, she hopes to continue her education at either Georgetown University or Johns Hopkins. Her dream job would be to work either at the World Bank or the United Nations. Born in Quebec City, Ornella lived in Montreal for the majority of her childhood. A fluent French speaker, she has lived in the DMV area since 2010. She started out caring for family members' children, and then, discovering her talent for it, decided to pursue it as a job. She enjoys children because they are genuine and naturally silly. She also appreciates each child's unique sense of creativity and finds it fascinating to see how they can make a game out of anything. Working with children reminds Ornella there is always something new to learn form people of all ages.
Stefanie graduated summa cum laude from the University of Maryland, College Park in May, 2014 with a B.S. in Psychology and a minor in Neuroscience. She is currently working at the National Institute of Mental Health as a Postbaccalaureate Research Assistant and plans to pursue her PhD in Clinical Psychology. Stefanie has been tutoring students for several years and loves being able to help students learn, grow, and appreciate knowledge and a good education.
I hold a Bachelor's degree in English from Goucher College and a Master’s degree in English from the University of Maryland at College Park. This is my fifth year teaching college English and my tenth year as a tutor. I have worked with students in grades 6-12, college and graduate school. My specialties are reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary and test prep. I also specialize in all aspects of academic/employment applications: resumes, essays, cover letters and letters of intent.
In addition to my experience teaching English at the collegiate level, I also have extensive experience as a tutor with gifted students and students with disabilities. I cater every tutoring session to the learning style of the student and provide thorough guidance, feedback and assessment.
