Connor Prairie Living History Museum

Visit one of the nation's finest living history museums and be transported back to Indiana in the 1836 Prairie Town or the 1863 Civil War Journey. See some of the first homes build in the area where William Connor and his Native American wife set up their trading post, visit the farm animals and try your hand at the loom and spinning wheel.

Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum

The Indianapolis Motor Speedway Hall of Fame Museum, located five miles northwest of downtown Indianapolis on the grounds of the famous Indianapolis Motor Speedway, is recogn ized as one of the most highly visible museums in the world devoted to automobiles and auto racing. In 1987, the museum and Speedway grounds were honored with the designation of National Historic Landmark.

Indianapolis Zoo

A lot of the wonderful things going on at this zoo involve water. A dolphin show is always a crowd-pleaser for grandparents and grandchildren. The other water mammals at the park are some of the most colorful and beloved: playful otters, grumpy polar bears, and leaden walruses head the list. Once the kids get tired of just looking, there is a sizable petting zoo, as well.
