As franchise owner of College Nannies and Tutors, together with our great team, we have been providing customized childcare and tutoring since November 2004. Our 12 year old son and 10 year old daughter are regular recipients of our terrific nannies for date nights and our role model tutors for varying school support needs.
College Nannies and Tutors has been a terrific adventure and I enjoy working with our families, nannies and tutors to provide role models and exceptional care and tutoring. I enjoy meeting new families through our partnerships, and I learn daily from our staff, nannies and tutors.
My name is Allison and I am the Director of Services for multiple CNT locations. I graduated from North Central University in Minneapolis with a degree in Intercultural Studies and Teaching English as a Foreign Language. I began at CNT while in college working as a tutor and a nanny. Since then, I have held a variety of roles with the company including SES/NCLB Coordinator and Learning Center Manager. In my free time I enjoy volunteering at my local church, reading, playing piano, and traveling. I love working with families to see students reach their goals as well as help nannies and tutors build valuable experience for their future careers.
Lara joined the College Nannies + Tutors team in March of 2010. She currently manages the On-call Nanny Division for the Sherman Oaks & Woodland Hills offices - in addition to working for a handful of families as their personal nanny & tutor. Lara can assist you in staffing a role model nanny for that next date night, day off from school or any other big or small occasion. Lara grew up in Overland Park, KS and upon graduating high school moved to Lawrence to attend the University of Kansas (Rock, Chalk, Jayhawk!) where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English and Theatre with Honors. Throughout college she was a nanny for a very special family, where the son and daughter ended up being the ring bearer and flower girl in her wedding. After graduating college, Lara moved to Los Angeles and began working at a large studio preschool with infants through pre-K children. She has also tutored children from kindergarten through 12th grade from a variety of backgrounds (low-income, public, private, Catholic, special needs, honors) in numerous subjects. She loves working with this company - helping to Build Stronger Families in the Los Angeles area.
At College Nannies and Tutors I work as the Family Relations Manager for our Seattle, Bellevue, and Redmond families. As the oldest of four daughters, family has always been the most important thing in my life. My final decision to attend the University of Washington allowed me to pursue my educational goals while maintaining a close relationship with my family. It also allowed me to continue to focus on my love for dance. I have been a Scottish Highland Dancer for over 20 years and am a certified instructor. In early 2014, I was given the opportunity to serve as President of the Seattle Highland Dance Association. In an effort to share my passion for Highland dance with others, my next goal is to pursue my judge's certification through Scotland and open a studio in the Seattle area.
From a career perspective, my experience working with families began when I was a teenager working as a babysitter in my neighborhood. I was quickly recruited to be a part time nanny for a family which I stayed with for five years. Ten years later, I am now a tutor for their three boys. Additionally, towards the end of university, I worked as Director of a tutoring center in the Snoqualmie area where I was first introduced to the idea of working with children and families on a professional level. After completing my college degree and working a short stint in IT sales, I knew my heart belonged back in a setting where I could continue to work with families.
I joined the College Nannies and Tutors team in 2014 and currently serve as the Director of Respite Services, working hand in hand with both our respite families and nanny team. Prior to this, I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Sociology and Master's Degree in Public Policy and Administration from California State University, Long Beach. Professionally, I have worked with the school district, government entities, and nonprofit higher education institutions specializing in credential programs. I truly value each day I get to help our wonderful families by enriching the lives of children and making a parent's day a bit more manageable! When I am not here, you can find me doing CrossFit, rockclimbing, hiking, mountain biking, or trying new food around this beautiful city I call home!
