I enjoy being around animals, playing outside, and camping. Spending time with children is a joy to me. I love their energy and activity level. I can play any instrument and enjoy teaching music to children.
The best part of taking care of children is getting to play, be silly, and laugh throughout my time at work, something not to be taken for granted. I firmly believe that a child can never have too many positive role models in his or her life and so it is important to lead by example in everything that I do. Helping families is something very worthwhile to me because I get the opportunity to be that positive influence and role model in the lives of their kids. What sets me apart is my knack for empathy and compassion in all circumstances. Looking forward to the chance to create fun memories with kids like I had growing up!
Writing has been a challenge and a passion for me most of my life. More than simply filling out assignments, I like the challenge of making something elegant, effective, and moving, and the clarity of ideas that come from that expression. At Cornell, I was able to develop my writing in a big way, and won a school-wide essay contest, as well as presented my ideas and writing at a conference at Berkeley. I also had the opportunity to pursue interests in film and architecture, and spend a wonderful semester in Paris improving my French. This past summer I spent traveling the southwest, taking photos. I love travel, nature, photography, and drawing. These things enrich my perspective and make my experiences more meaningful, and I'm always excited to share them.
