As a veteran of the corporate world with 20 years of sales and management experience, Susan chose College Nannies, Sitters + Tutors as a way to "leave it better." With Make-A-Wish she has chaired fund raising events, spoken on behalf of the organization, but her true love is meeting wish kids and their families and helping make that wish come true. Susan has participated in over 50 wishes and feels honored to be part of such a magical organization. She is also a board member of The Breathing Association and The Columbus Dance Academy. Susan is a native of Ohio, having lived in Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus and now enjoys traveling to the various College Nannies, Sitters + Tutors offices in Indiana, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas.
I’m married to a wonderful man and we are very proud of our 2 boys (young men). Our eldest, Shaun, just recently moved to San Diego, CA to begin his Photography career and our youngest, Erik, is a Sophomore who is a Honors student and very involved with football and wrestling. We also have a Westie (Riley) and a Green-cheeked conure (Patron)….both males.
I have been in the staffing and recruiting industry for “too many” years to count. It’s always been a welcome challenge along with a rewarding experience. I began my career with Kelly Services (when they were better known as “Kelly Girls”). Throughout my career, it’s been a pleasure to have the opportunity to make a positive impact in someone’s life.
Nikki started teaching SAT test prep in 2006 in Pittsburgh, PA. In 2007, she moved to Florida where she continued her work as a tutor and instructor with several different schools and companies in the Pensacola area. During this time, she continued to work in SAT test prep, and she also started assisting students in grades 1-12 in basic math, algebra, geometry, grammar, writing, reading, history, social studies, study skills, and ACT, ASVAB, and GED test prep. In 2010, Nikki returned to the Pittsburgh area to be near her family, and she continued working in education as a part-time tutor and instructor. Over the past 9 years, she's worked with students in both one-on-one and classroom settings. Nikki's very excited to now be an learning center coordinator and tutor for the South Hills College Nannies and Tutors office in Pittsburgh.
I am a biochemistry major/dance minor at the Ohio State University. My favorite subjects are exactly those two subjects! I am an avid, reader, dancer, and singer, and I also love trying out new recipes. I was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, and moved to Columbus for school. I hope to one day be a physician and help improve the lives of those who don't have regular access to adequate health care. Helping those in need is one of my biggest passions, and I plan to devote my life to it. I also love children very much! I enjoy reading and singing to them and running around playing pirate with them! I think children are a real joy and I look forward to meeting yours soon!
With a Bachelor of Science in Middle Childhood Education from The Ohio State University, Brandy has a firm understanding of what students need to succeed in school. During her studies, she began working at the OSU Newark Campus as a peer tutor and fell in love with the idea of individualized education, encouraging others to join her quest to bring every one of her fellow students up to college readiness standards.
Through years of dedicated research and development, Brandy worked with the Tutoring Center Coordinator to create an internationally certified tutor training program as a way to recruit and retain peer tutors. For over ten years, other institutions across the country looked to this program as a model to design their own training, many of them with Brandy’s direct assistance.
After graduation, Brandy continued to serve as a Professional Tutor at The Ohio State University at Newark and Central Ohio Technical College. Eventually, Brandy was given a permanent professional position at her college, serving as the Testing and Tutoring Center Assistant, where she managed 50 to 100 tutors and thousands of student requests for academic support each year. Brandy also served as the Interim Testing Center Coordinator for over a year, proctoring various exams and assisting students with disability accommodations. Brandy currently resides in Newark, Ohio, with her husband and four beautiful children.
