I am a lifelong Minnesota resident currently living in the Rochester, MN area. I live with my fantastic spouse, Chris, and our 4 cats.
I am a graduate of the University of MN- Twin Cities with a BA in Psychology and English. I have been the owner of a College Nannies + Tutors franchise for over 6 years and have over 9 years of experience in the nanny and tutor industry.
In my free time I enjoy golfing, camping, and working around my new house. I also enjoy dining out, wine tastings, and attending community events. Though I'm not terribly great at it, I do knit and sew and hope to make some beautiful creations for each of my family members.
I have recently changed my career path from mortgage banking to working at College Nannies + Tutors. I love working with people and enjoy being able to help families out with their nanny and tutor needs. It gives me great pleasure to see how my role here helps others. Very refreshing! I enjoy meeting new people and am always up for an adventure.
I am very excited to be working in the Rochester area. I love all sports so the local baseball scene is very intriguing to me. I enjoy reading in my spare time, bowling, cooking and camping when I'm not working. Some people would call me a "work-a-holic" but it is only because I enjoy what I do so much- how could I not when I get to help families find solutions to their childcare and education needs!
I grew up in Eyota, MN with my wonderful family. I have two younger brothers that are pro-amateur quad racers, and I am so proud of them. I currently live in Rochester with my significant other, our wonderful baby boy and two dogs! I love to cook and try new recipes whenever I can. I love to be surrounded by friends and family as much as possible. I enjoy going on road trips with my family and seeing different parts of the country. My next place I would like to visit would be somewhere tropical- I have never been outside of the United States!
Before working at College Nannies, Sitters + Tutors, I had been in customer service in retail, dining, weight loss, and most recently at at a tanning salon in Rochester. Working in these various taught me a lot about myself as a manager, as well as how to deal with many different personalities of customers and employees. Working with such a diverse group of families and nannies at College Nannies + Tutors is such a rewarding experience.
I love being able to make the match between a nanny and a family. When the family calls and is happy that they have chosen the nanny to work with them and the feeling is reciprocated, it puts a smile on my face. I enjoy knowing that I have a small part in helping that family become stronger and that nanny to build their resume by being an exceptional role model for the children in their care. I can't wait to add more families and nannies to our CNST family!
I am a born and raised Minnesotan with most of my childhood spent in the Twin Cities area. I have two older brothers (one is my twin!) and we all share a deep love for our Minnesota sports' teams. I graduated from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota in 2012. It is also where I met my beautiful wife, Katie. We got married in October 2014 and now happily live in Byron.
I have been part of the College Nannies, Sitters + Tutors team since April of 2012. I spent about a year as a tutor with the company before being promoted to Learning Center Manager of the Rochester location. I am most proud of helping our office win a "Rock Star" award in 2013 and 2014. I can't wait to help us continue to grow and serve our awesome community.
As far as hobbies go, I thoroughly enjoy all kinds of sports and am somewhat of a movie buff with my favorite movie being Casablanca. I also enjoy binge-watching TV shows with my wife and walking our dog, Scout.
As the oldest child of my family I helped to raise and care for my siblings and cousins. Through out college I cared for children in homes and by working at summer camps. After college I worked at an Easter Seals camp for people with special needs. Later I was nanny for a family with two girls, the oldest one having special needs, I worked for that family for seven years until they recently moved.
I have six years of child care experience, including working for over three years as a nanny with five children. My experience includes teaching the children, helping with homework, and encouraging academic activities and reading. I have also held various babysitting jobs, including working as a volunteer babysitter for thirty plus kids at my church. Being fun and energetic, I enjoy crafts, reading, games, and any outdoor activities. My love of children comes from my experience of growing up in a big family with ten nieces and nephews.
Also, I have experience as a leader in my current job working as an Old Navy Training Lead for over a year. I am currently pursuing a degree in Elementary Education through PSEO at Rochester Community and Technical College. I plan to continue my education at Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota in the fall, where I have received the presidential scholarship for my academic achievements.
Hi. I'm Lance Millard. I grew up in Byron, but now I live on a small hobby farm between Stewartville and Hayfield with my wife and dog. I graduated from the University of Minnesota Duluth in 2012 with a degree in Teaching Physical Science - Chemistry concentration. I am currently licensed by the state of Minnesota to teach high school chemistry and middle school science, but haven't landed a job teaching. My wife and I both love geek culture and have decorated our house in superhero and Star Wars memorabilia. In my free time, I love to watch movies, play video games, and read. I also like to draw and play music, although I haven't given these hobbies my full attention in a long time.
I have a broad education, partly scientific and partly in the humanities. I have attended the University of Oklahoma, Trinity International University, and Hebrew Union College- Jewish Institute of Religion while majoring in Industrial Engineering, Bible and Ancient New East. I have had two rather distinct careers: one years ago as an engineer and one in more recent years as a college teacher in literature and religion. I love teaching, especially when students light up after they finally "get it."
