I graduated from Minnesota State University, Mankato with degrees in Theater Design/Management and History. I spent a number of years after college working as a Costume Designer for multiple theaters in the Twin Cities and surrounding communities. After 5 years working in theater I moved to San Francisco, CA with my husband and started my career in retail management and also volunteered with few children's theater companies. When we moved back to Minnesota we settled in Hudson, WI and have lived there for the last 8 years where we started a family and I continue to volunteer at the local children's theater when time permits.
I joined College Nannies, Sitters and Tutors in May of 2016 after working 10+ years in retail management. My work as the Family Placement Manager in the Woodbury office is fulfilling, rewarding and fun. I am looking forward to sharing my excitement about this company and helping to build a strong team of role models for the families in our community.
Since 2009, I’ve enjoyed serving our east metro families and their children in many roles, from an after school tutoring coordinator to the program director of Supplemental Education Services.
Today, as the Learning Center Manager of our Woodbury-Eagan office, I love the opportunity to build stronger families by bringing students and tutors together to achieve their academic goals!
I grew up in Denver, Colorado and now reside in St. Paul, where I miss the Rocky Mountains but love the Mississippi River.
My background includes a degree in liberal arts from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities and prior management experience the Historic Sites Division with the Minnesota Historical Society.
In my spare time, I enjoy creating art, motorcycling, antique collecting, and volunteering for local historic organizations.
I am a University of Minnesota student studying Journalism, Theater and Religion. I am hoping to becoming a youth pastor and from there, go on to seminary. I love working with kids and families and I absolutely thrive off of building relationships. I love creating good in the lives of the people I work with and for. I also believe it is so important to provide a creative and loving environment for the kids I work with, and the people in my life in general. I am creative, outgoing, smart and I love, love, love creating a good time for everyone in my life.
I am a sophomore Elementary Education major at Gustavus Adolphus College and I am extremely involved on campus with professional growth and service organizations. I have a passion for inspiring growth and learning, and I have a knack for activity planning. I am a very adaptable person; I can adapt to become whatever a child needs (Relaxed, energetic, strict, scheduled, flexible etc) This is one of my strengths as an educator, and it is very easily applied to nannying. I love love love kids and I am always ready to be active and play. I got CPR and First aid certified on 4/05/2016. Please give me a call if you have any questions!
Elizabeth was born and raised in Bismarck, North Dakota but has lived in Minnesota since graduating from high school. She received her BA from the College of St. Benedict with a double major in psychology and music performance. She has currently returned to school to pursue a Master's of Physician Assistant Studies.
Elizabeth has been tutoring with College Nannies and Tutors for the past 7 years. During that time she has worked in many different areas and with students of varying ages. Current areas of tutoring focus include ACT preparation, all grade level math, language arts, science, and study skills.
She appreciates the challenge of discovering each student's unique learning style and providing students with strategies and skills that can be generalized to other areas of their lives.
In high school I had an amazing AP Literature teacher who made learning classic literature likeI think I am a good role model because I am enthusiastic about working with kids. I really enjoy learning and find a lot of joy in helping others. I have been an active member of Circle K which is a volunteer organization and I have also spent over 100 hours helping walk dogs at the local humane society. In my free time I really enjoy reading and think that is a great extracurricular that I would love all kids to do. I also was an Resident Assistant in college and have a very welcoming and friendly personality that allows anyone to feel comfortable talking with me. I believe all of these parts add up to a great role model for any young learner!Shakespeare so much fun. She would act out scenes or relate it to us in a way that made it easy to connect to stories written long long ago.
